Submitted by telega on Tue, 02/03/2009 - 09:06In version 2.22b you have to check "Preview" checkbox in bookmark Properties dialog, on Advanced page. Then you'll be able to view preview for this bookmark.

when browsing a page on the net, we can right-click the page and add it to FD.
FD now renders a preview the first time we access the FD root page.
do we have to go to properties dialog>Advanced and check it every time we add a page to FD, or is there a default behavior we can change somewhere ?
because it is very reasonable to make the preview-checkbox checked (active) as the default behavior of an 'Add to FD' action. we can't find a logo for every page we bookmark, right ?

Preview checkbox only affects "zoomed" image that is displayed when you hold left mouse button. Otherwise you don't need Preview checkbox checked.

what is a "zoomed" image ?
is it an image that is auto-generated by FD ?

When you open Fast Dial page you see a table of thumbnails. In older versions you could left-click and hold on a thumbnail for the preview image (a large image, also called "zoom" in previous versions) to appear on screen.

So I would also suggest that this is made a global or per 'bookmarks folder' setting, if possible. Also, is there any chance of an 'on mouse over' setting that would provide an automatic preview without having to left click?
That would provide a super-quick scan of all my favourite sites and make Fast Dial even better for using for this purpose.

Yes I can see this would be useful for users who use the Preview option on many cells.

I can see that the Preview/Zoom function is more useful on Bookmarks folders without Logos.
Also the Preview on mouseover is an interesting idea
I think that this would of course need to be an Optional setting.
Do you find the present Preview (Zoom) image size increase about right ?

Regarding preview on mouse over - I don't understand how it should work. For example you have moved mouse over the first thumbnail - a preview appears. How it's supposed to hide then?

Are you aware that Preview in 2.22b has to be set up in each cell and is not a Global setting.
Please go to Properties and click Preview for each cell you want Preview for.
