Do you find the present Preview (Zoom) image size increase about right ?
Yes, maybe just about right... I personally would prefer to be 'zoomed out' a little more, but I appreciate not everyone has the same tolerance for small text :-)
in reply to telega:
Regarding preview on mouse over - I don't understand how it should work. For example you have moved mouse over the first thumbnail - a preview appears. How it's supposed to hide then?
ok... a good point :-)
I've just had a play around with this, and the way I would naturally expect this to work is as follows:
- I hover over a previewed website
- after a small amount of time (half a second, a second? a user-configurable time?) the preview is displayed, and this is centred in my Fast Dial tab (the latter being current functionality)
- in order to remove the preview, i either move the mouse to the top of the browser window, or to the side of the image preview (depending if i'd hovered over an image towards the top of my Fast Dial or to the side of it - whichever mouse movement is shortest).
- The image preview disappears immediately (no delay)
The delay (possibly user-configurable) would allow the user to move over to the image they wish to preview (particularly those in the middle of the Fast Dial tab), without getting caught in a cycle of inadvertently previewing the ones they have to hover over in order to get there.
I think having this delay as user-configurable (in units of tenths of a second, let's say), would allow for differences in how quick people are with the mouse. I'm pretty quick, someone with more grey hairs than me might not be :-)
I think this would work...
As chiaroscuro says, I think 'on-hover' previews, if implemented, should certainly be an optional setting, and also the user-configurable delay should probably be a sensible (slow, maybe 1 sec?) default, to cater for the widest variety of users. Power-users will want it to be quicker, but they will know to look for a setting.

Submitted by Benjamin (not verified) on Fri, 04/03/2009 - 10:39Sure,

Yes, I've also verified with my PC and there was a preview checkbox. This seems to be a Mac-specific issue.

Mmmm..........
I learnt this from the developer
"Favicon" textbox is displayed in Firefox 3.1.x and above only, because FD uses some new Firefox API, that was added in Firefox 3.1.
I remain unclear now as to whether your problem is Mac related, Fast Dial Version related or Firefox Version related ?
Certainly in Firefox 3.0.8 with Fast Dial 2.22b (Windows) I cannot reproduce.
Would welcome an informative update.
Many thanks
