Firefox not retaining bookmarks on reboot

Hello, I am having a very hard time.
Got a new work computer, so I immediately installed fast dial.
Downloaded a theme from the site (EarthfromSpace.zip).
Please see here
After a few days, I decided to change the theme to a plain image.
Spent days requesting logos and setting up my fastdial page. it was perfect.
When I close firefox and turn it back on, everything is okay.
But when I turn off the computer or restart it, I lose my image and bookmark folders.
It always goes back to EarthfromSpace with no bookmarks.
I spend the day reposing every image and link and the same issue occurs when the computer is restarted. This has happened a dozen times.
I uninstalled fast dial and reinstalled it, Earth from Space is still listed in the memory and is used as the default theme, still not saving my info.
I uninstalled firefox and reinstalled it then installing fast dial, same issue. this theme is haunting my firefox and wont go away, inhibiting me from customizing or even using fast dial the way I need it.
Any advice?

Even though he uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, often times Firefox will not remove the profile data.

I suggest you try making a clean profile and testing.

Submitted by telega on Fri, 10/10/2014 - 06:17I suppose he has some nightly version of Firefox. I had heard that some such versions sometimes clean profile, thus deleting Fast Dial settings/bookmarks.

preferences/appearance switched theme to default, then page/add and i added an .jpg and selected the image box and hit close. It previewed correctly. I have tried removing the theme. I deleted the theme but it keeps coming back.

1. only when the computer is closed down does my bookmarks, icons and image disappear and the original theme is placed back on my homepage. My two computers are not synced in any way.
2. in the bookmark menu, I have only one bookmark saved under the Fast Dial folder, out of nearly 20.

after deleting firefox and fast dial several times to make sure there wasnt a glitch somewhere and to ensure I am using the most up to date ver. I am using FireFox 32.0.3 and fast dial ver 4.11

this is to show that the issue is when restarting the computer and has no bearing on firefox. I did change my theme to default and removed earthfrom space a second time to troubleshoot.

Thank you for giving a clearer picture of your experiences.
As I mentioned to you I was not able to reproduce.
That is I had no problem deleting the offending Theme.
I run Pale Moon 24.7.2
The behaviour is most complex and far from typical
When you experienced these questions did you have any other extension running but Fast Dial ?
The developer of Fast Dial telega suggests that there are some nightly Versions of Firefox around that are causing bookmarks to be deleted.
Have you out of curiosity done what Gumanov suggested and tried to reproduce the problem you have been having in a new profile.
It would be interesting to learn from the Fast Dial developer telega in which folder in the Firefox Profile the Themes are stored and then go into the Profile and delete directly the offending Theme.
It is difficult to understand the relationship between the misbehaviour of bookmarks and of the theme, and to correlate the two.
It is difficult to come up with any suggestions except to try in a new Profile and see if the problem goes away.
If it does you can then delete your present profile.
More extreme is to delete Firefox and delete the Mozilla Folder in the programs Folder in Windows
Perhaps in the interim you could see if a new Profile works and see also if telega has any further suggestions
