when i right click on a fast dial thumbnail and hit refresh it will not fetch me a new thumbnail for that bookmark like it did before with no problems.

I have to to tell you I am running Firefox 3.6.8 with FD 2.23b2 and cannot reproduce your problem.

I have no idea at the moment what could be causing this.

Have you checked that your modem and your connection to the web is working fine ?

Have you changed anything else recently like virus software ?

Please could you try to confirm that this problem still exists using Fast Dial in a new Firefox profile ?
There has to be a cause for this...

What is the version of your Firefox Java plugin ?

Is there an AVG extension that is autoloading into Firefox.
Please try disabling. Maybe it loaded into your new Profile ?

Oh are you sure that you have the correct Version of Fast Dial in Addons.

I suppose if you wanted to be scientific, you could try loading 2.23b1 from AMO, you could also try loading an earlier Version of Firefox to see if either change things

My own feeling is that this will change nothing, but it would be interesting to see..

I used to always use AVG but gave up on it as it started interfering with Firefox.

Do you remember if you updated any AVG or other software recently

what Version of Fast Dial are you using.
Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling Fast Dial with restart firefoxes.

Have you disabled Java somewhere ?

I do not think this is a Fast Dial bug.
But obviously something is causing it

As I cannot reproduce myself with the Firefox and Fast Dial Versions I am unable to research this for you, and in a way depend on you for feedback.

Have you any experience of the error console. That could also be another way of trying to understand what is happening.

I have tried rolling back to older versions of both firefox(3.5x) and fast dial(2.31) and neither have remedied this.

Yes I thought that would not work.
I do not think that this was a bug related to a Firefox Version as you posted here (and on AMO.)

running a little out of options here.

You have run in a new profile with no AVG extension loaded.

The only stone left unturned is AVG itself.

Did you check if all your bookmarks are in your Fast Dial Folder in Bookmarks menu?
and did you try making your Fast Dial folder home ?

to be scientific please set up the error console and then clear the console.
After clearing the console then refresh a cell and look again at the console.
And let me know of any errors that you see.
