Need help with Simple Mail, if you have time.

I have been using Simple Mail for a while now and I love the Add On. I recently had to re-install my OS (WinXP) and when I went to configure Simple Mail I just could not get it to work. I enter the same settings for my pop account that I use for Outlook/Thunderbird, as I did before. I get no error messages it simply does not seem to connect and get mail. To verify my settings I have also copied the settings on my laptop's Simple Mail (both PC's are running Firefox 3). Still nothing. I have tried uninstalling the Simple Mail Add On and re-installing it but it remembers my information. I retype it in again, just in case and get the same effect - no errors it just doesn't get the emails. Have also tried changing the SMTP ports and nothing changes.
Can you think of what could be causing this? And is there a way to delete any saved information when uninstalling Simple Mail so I can try a fresh re-install? Thanks

To see errors in error console set javascript.options.showInConsole = true in about:config page.
What mail server do you use?

Re-installed the add-on and used the same settings as on my laptop. This time the Simple Mail icon kept blinking, a problem listed in another thread. I read that forum and tried the solution mentioned: disable the Java Quick Start extension. After restarting Firefox that time Simple mail worked. So, possibly a small bug. To answer your question my server is .secureserver.net, email through GoDaddy's hosting. Thanks for the help.
