I used Simple Mail for a while, because I don't need a bloated mail client. However, I decided to switch to a notification addon, as I prefer to keep my sent emails also online (I don't have an IMAP account and I don't want to switch to another email provider).

But the notifiier I use (webmail notifier) is not really working very well with the user script I have to use for it. And also it seems that SSL is not working properly.

My idea now is, that I would love to keep using Simple Mail, but running it in a "Notifier mode", so that it only checks if I have new mail, without storing anything locally, and with the ability to take me to the login page of my email provider (which has to be defined in preferences of course)

I thought I'll make this suggestion here, because I assume it possibly wouldn't be too much of coding to include such feature?!
