Drag & Drop Re-ordering of sites not working in 2.8

The Drag & Drop feature is one that I used often to make sure my most-visited sites were in a specific order. When I try to drag & drop, FD puts it where IT wants, not where I tried to drop it. It used to swap sites between the two slots, but it no longer does that.

I'm having this problem too. Using FF3.0.1 with FastDial2.9. After I upgraded to 2.8, all thumbnails stopped cooperating and won't go where I put them
Thanks for the feedback and the details of your setup.
It remains quite unclear at the moment what is causing this problem.
Is there any chance that you could do what
telega asked of tjslater (see above)
If you send me your places.sqlite and tell which bookmarks to drag-n-drop to reproduce the problem, I can try to fix it.
If telega can reproduce the problem then it can be more easily fixed.
Do you have by chance any errors in your error console when you encounter this problem.

Also, this morning I realized that my bookmark folders are rearranging themselves and won't move back to where I want them.

I am very tempted to ask you to keep your non working set up as it is for the moment.
That is not to delete anything.
Or even try to fix anything :-)
I mean just for a day or so.
Maybe then telega could ask you further questions.

Please give more details: how did you manage bookmarks and what happened? Just an error in console or something else?
If the error gets repeated every time then please backup your bookmarks (menu Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import and Backup > Backup) and send backup file to me to telega gmail com, I'll try to investigate.

Submitted by EricaS on Mon, 09/15/2008 - 13:41Well, I don't know what happened to my bookmarks but the problem stopped after resetting FF a couple of times. Haven't had the problem since. The problem I'm still having though is with the thumbnails in Fast Dial. I can't rearrange them to where I want. The thumbnails with the folders are especially stubborn. If I try to move it down it'll bounce up to the top squares and force the thumbnail that was already there to another position.
