for example choose css/view css from the developer tab bar and see what happens.

This is fixed in new Fast Dial version 2.1 available at: http://userlogos.org/extensions/fastdial

If you are unable for some reason to upgrade to Fast Dial Version 2.x, and are using Fast Dial Version 1.x, you may find information available here useful.
