Hi! I'm using Fast Dial extension and I've got one question. Is it possible to make a background absolutely transparent?

Are you talking about the cell/logo background or the page background ?
Please clarify.
What do you mean?
Do you want to see Desktop underneath or what ?

There has been much talk about this in relation to Fast Dial.
For example here
I know no way to achieve this.
What is te story behind the picture you refer to >
There is a Windows application called Pitaschio whcih can make the whole of Firefox, or any other windows program completely transparent.
It is quite fun
see here

Is this a firefox limitation?
I'm desperatly trying to move from opera to firefox 4 but i simply cannot live without the transparent speed dial.
I got really hopeful when i found the transparent firefox themes thinking it meant a transparent speed dial was possible too.

Yes there are a number of questions
To which I do not know the answer
First of all if Pitaschio can make most any Windows app vary opacity until the app is transparent, then something should be possible.
And this works with pre-aero operating systems like Windows 2000.
It is an interesting exercise to try
I am not aware of any CSS statement that will achieve this. But I would be interested to learn of one
There are a number of threads about this question on the web. If you find any sort of solution please let us know
many thanks

Submitted by Foamy on Mon, 03/28/2011 - 08:57Well this is one of the files that enables transparency in opera:
http://my.opera.com/Z1-AV69/blog/2010/02/04/transparent-background-when-...
Probably not much help though. I do remember there being a .zip with a file to get transparent speed dial in opera before themes started using it but now i cant find it and i dont see anything relevant in the skin files.

I am not familiar with Aero/Glassing as it is not supported by my operating system
I am sorry that I cannot be of more help with this.
But there are a lot of threads on this subject
But the thread really has to be about Firefox to be of much help I think
Please let me know if you find anything

I'm not really sure what you're looking for so those may not be of help.

As mentioned above I cannot use/test any style that depends on glassing.
I suppose I would be interested to hear of anyone who has been successful in this area by using css or other...
many thanks
