Transparency / Transparent Logos in Firefox 4

To solve this 'transparency' problem you can re-install Firefox 3.6.12 (you do NOT have to uninstall 4.0b), open the fast dial homepage and refresh all, this will re-enable the desired transparency effect, close. Re-open 4.0b and again enjoy full transparency.
It is important that you disable any 3rd party theme in 4.0b before you attempt this as it can screw up the theme in 3.6.12.
This worked a charm for me, hope it does for you guys too.

Yes of course you are right
If you have transparent Logos in Version 3 then they will remain transparent in Firefox 4 AS LONG AS YOU DON'T REFRESH.
The Bug is in fact in Firefox 4.
It is only when the REFRESH is done that one becomes aware of the problem.
If however you are wanting to make/try new cells with transarent Logos continually, then maybe it is simply easier to stay in 3.6.14
Thanks for your post

Please clarify what you mean by a 3rd party theme

You mentioned that the issue is a bug in Firefox 4. Do you know if it's something Mozilla's devs are aware of? If so, is there any idea about when to expect a fix?

Thanks for your suggestion.
That might be the case. If it were, I would be interested to learn if there had been any experience of a Firefox theme having a negative effect on Fast Dial display.

Mozilla are aware of this question as a bug has been raised.
But the bug has not yet been fully processed yet for lack of testcase.

No problem
But I was a little unclear why you mentioned it.
Have you ever encountered a Firefox theme that interferes with the Fast Dial display ?

Nope, the fast dial works in any theme I have tried, however when you switch from 4.0b to 3.6.xx and vice versa it seems to load the settings from the same folder (also seems to use the same add-ons folder) and the new themes don't seem at all compatible with the layout of 3.6.xx, so I found it always best to switch to the default theme before I go and make repairs.
It does not seem to make any difference to fast dial itself, just the surrounding theme/buttons of firefox in general making it difficult to navigate.
Hope this clears it up some.

What you are experiencing is a bug in Firefox 4
If you go back to firefox 3 and refresh logos they will become transparent
The will remain transparent in Firefox 4 , if you don't refresh again
best
