Submitted by spaljeni on Wed, 09/16/2009 - 08:41Hello Lady, that is quite a list you made here.
Personally, I like my Fast Dial to have a background picture and the logos to be transparent so that's the way I will create logos you requested.
I hopethat works for you.
Here is the first one:

This one was a bit hard, because of the small lettering.

Re: Many Varied Logos (9)
Submitted by Ladysimular on Thu, 09/17/2009 - 06:17Transparent is usually the way I go and always works. I am curious, however. I have tried to use an image background and found that I could either barely see the logos, or not see them at all. Of course I prefer modern art (though I love all of it) and tend to use ones with fairly bold colors on my screen. Do you have some tricks you use to bring the logo images up or do you keep the background image more muted, or what? There is one I downloaded from this site, in fact, that is one of my favorite pieces of art and I have used it as my desktop for ages (though I did just switch for a change...I will go back) you can see/get it here: normal screen: http://s3.images.www.tvn.hu/2008/07/22/23/24/www.tvn.hu_eac689ef609d8f74...
widescreen:

You will see what I mean when you look at it. I am also a fan of Escher (which your avatar reminds me of...him or Dali...or Terry CANNOTREMEMBERFORTHELIFEOFME (AARRGGGHH!) of Monty Python fame...? So, I figure you may have run into this same problem...? At any rate, I'd appreciate any pointers. It would be nice to have it all.
Thank you for the beautiful logos, too. I really appreciate the work you did for me.
Best of the best,
Lady

Not too clear what you are referring to.
There is a setting opacity which will alter the transparency of the complete Logo.
Find in Preferences/Appearance/Thumbnail.
If the setting for opacity is set to 10 that will show the Logo at full opacity.
The opacity setting can be altered so that a Logo becomes more opaque on hover.
The transparency of the original Logo is a separate question and allows one to see the Fast Dial Page background behind, if the cell background is set to Transparent in Preferences/Appearance/Thumbnail/Background.
Should work well.
If you prefer to have a particular colour around your Logo then you can change the background colour to your cell in Preferences/Appearance/Thumbnail.
This can also be set to change the cell background on hover.
Many thanks

I am also not sure what you mean by this, but I do have a clue.
I've come a long way since I started creating logos and I have learned a few tricks.
Outlining is a good idea to make the logo stand out. Here are some examples:
neobux
portal de series
These look great on either background: light or dark.
One thing chiaroscuro did not mention about transparent settings in Fast Dial:
There is no transparent color on the color picker, you have to type in "transparent" by hand in the color box for the cells (thumbnails) to be transparent.
