... so that fast dial can tell me if I have new emails. The icon could change dynamically showing the number of emails unread, or simply a flashing version of the image selected for the webmail. This really would make fastdial a one-stop-shop for everything I use daily on the internet. There must be an add-on author with the code pre-written willing to co-operate with the project, considering how popular fast dial is.

This could even lead to addons for your addon, with small, fast dial pane-sized status and updates for weather, or the current song on a browser media player, or a zillion other uses the internet thinks up for it.
