pages do not load when started with browser closed

Hi.
When I have firefox closed and I click a URL in an email or use start | run | http://google.com the browser opens but doesn't take me to the URL that was entered.
I have uninstalled fast dial and it works just fine. Also, I have several computers and it is only happening on 1 of them.
What can I do to get this fixed/resolved?
Thanks.

Submitted by chiaroscuro on Thu, 03/12/2009 - 09:51i tried the old fix but it didn't seem to do anything. i might screencap it so you can see it messing up. don't see how that would help though. :)
Has this particular computer got a slow processor ?
You see this is not an inherent Fast Dial bug. In other words it can not be reproduced.
Try in a new Firefox Profile on that machine and see if you can reproduce.
Many thanks

OK,
I am running the same Fast Dial.
I put google in run and Firefox loads just fine.
May I suggest that you put Fast Dial on it's own, in a new Profile in Firefox and repeat the procedure.
There is possibly another element that is provoking your problem
Are you by chance using tab mix lite ?
Many thanks

Submitted by Phillip Jacobs (not verified) on Thu, 03/12/2009 - 22:22yes I have tabmix plus. I don't know what tabmix lite is though. I will try it out tomorrow when i am at work. that is the computer that is messed up.
thanks.

It is only tab mix lite that is problematic.

Submitted by Phillip Jacobs (not verified) on Fri, 03/13/2009 - 11:44I tried using a different profile that I just created. It did not fix the problem. good try though.
One last thing I noticed testing it just now was that when I right clicked on a link in HTML and said Open In New Window the link wouldn't open but if I open in new tab it works fine. It is just very annoying! :)

Strange.
You do not have this problem on your other two computers.
I am unable to reproduce.
So this is not a reproduceable Fast Dial bug.
There are no errors in the error console.

Might be worth checking to see that your tab settings in Firefox, Fast Dial and in Tab Mix plus are the same in all machines.

Submitted by telega on Fri, 03/13/2009 - 13:38@topic author,
I saw such problem encountered by user who removed "Activity indicator" (i.e. throbber icon in the topmost right browser corner) from browser toolbar. If activity indicator is removed, Fast Dial is unable to identify on browser startup whether a blank tab is truly blank or is in process of loading some page. However, you said that the problem occurs on a new Firefox profile, I believe the activity indicator is present in that case.

Submitted by Phillip Jacobs (not verified) on Mon, 03/16/2009 - 13:04I did not have the throbber. I added it back and now the problem is fixed. I logged into the other profile and it is missing the throbber too.
thanks for the help. hopefully this will help someone else too.

Good
Thanks for the feedback

I have just created a new Firefox Profile this end. And as expected it is complete with throbber...

Yes this would seem to be a bug of sorts, although I have no activity indicator in Toolbar, and I am not able to reproduce.

Thank you
