In my humble opinion, Fast Dial is the future of bookmarking. There are so many possibilities to be explored within this concept:
- Visually-Oriented
- Visible thumbnails to identify your favorite sites
- Visually identifiable folders
- Background images
- Logos
- Themes
- User Community
including;
- Forums
- Chat
The experience of bookmarking has become a visual, creative, interactive and community-oriented experience. This concept has the potential to become a cultural phenomenon.
With this in mind, I caution you to make wise decisions when it comes to future versions of Fast Dial. The last thing you need is to shoot yourself in the foot with more poor decisions that alienate your community.
On a personal note, I would like to see the addition of a capability to use a different background image for each folder.

This feature (per-folder options) was initally added by me in older versions, and the only feedback I had received was from users confused by the feature. Nobody ever told me he likes the feature before I removed it. Once removed I received several complaints like "This is the only feature that makes me love Fast Dial". So I'm going to add this feature back. I'm thinking to add a checkbox, something like "Have global settings" or "Have per-folder settings". Not yet sure how to better implement this.
