I think userlogos uses ifastnet for web hosting.
Re: iFastnet - any one else getting this huge annoyance
Submitted by gumanov on Wed, 12/24/2008 - 17:07after googling this issue, heres what i found :
"what is happening is that the DDOS/DOS attack detection systems are being triggered by the traffic spikes to your site which, in the interests of not killing the server, is diverting traffic.
Check your server logs, find out what's with the sudden spikes in traffic to your site and if possible, implement some caching mechnisms."

That is really helpful :-)
I was reading the page and as you said it is an error page of sorts
Regarding your note, are you or telega able to set up "caching mechanisms" ???
Or is this up to iFastnet ??

we can set-up caching..
but the traffic spiking must be stopped!
i believe there is some sort of bot visiting the site alot, increasing traffic..
have a look at: http://userlogos.org/admin/logs/referrers
second on top is "http://www.whoisde.de/" ??!
ALSO see: http://userlogos.org/admin/logs/visitors
the top 4 visitors have insane amounts of visits!
i am #6 . .(ye i visit ALOT), i have over 600 visits..
but some have over 3,000 !! bot anyone?
Re: iFastnet - any one else getting this huge annoyance
Submitted by telega on Wed, 12/24/2008 - 17:38I guess this is defence from several sequential visits by a single user. So if you open several pages in a short time, it gets triggered.
We can try to enable some caching.

sounds just like it
We can try to enable some caching.
That would be great !!

Submitted by gumanov on Wed, 12/24/2008 - 17:43without counting the anonymous IP's and suspicious activity..
its me, then chiaroscuro, then you.

Re: iFastnet - any one else getting this huge annoyance
Submitted by gumanov on Wed, 12/24/2008 - 18:12@chiaroscuro,
i have also disabled the instant access logs..
the ones that log every little thing that happens..such as a page load, a vote, etc..
i think this will definitely decrease the load on the server!
if it doesnt make much difference, i will turn it back on..
but do not get this confused with the "recent log entries" page.. as that is always kept on... i turned off the other logger..
