2.14 bugs
JosefTor Thu, 10/23/2008 - 14:47
I tried out 2.14 and I had numerous bugs. One is that the navigation mode goes into autohide when your mouse isn't over it and I cant seem to make it stop doing that.
Second, the properties and preferences is back on the same drop down menu which is just confusing.
Third, when I right click a tab to try and get it to open in a new window it just brings up the drop down menu with preferences and stuff like that so I can't open a tab in a new window.
Third thing is not a bug but an annoyance. Why is there a google search bar on my screen when firefox includes one in the upper right hand of my browser? I already have a small screen (13 inches) so my icons are super small... I don't want wasted space for a feature I can't disable.
I'm back on 2.11 and all problems are solved. I love the program but I hope they go back to 2.11 and make modifications on that because 2.14 is the wrong direction.

Autohide of the Navigation Toolbar is one of the new Features of Fast Dial 2.14
To disable see here

This only happens when you click on a cell.
What is the problem with this ?

Surely this is an advantage if you have a small screen and Autohide as it makes the FD page relatively larger if "Firefox" is hidden.
Maybe there will be an option to disable the search bar in the next Version
There is are two Styles here that may interest you that modify the appearance of the Fast Dial Search Bar.

Submitted by Burny on Tue, 11/04/2008 - 02:40Hey there,
I got the same problem.
After I've installed the Version 2.14, the navigation toolbar goes in auto-hide. When I move my cursor above the place, where the navigation toolbar is located, the toolbar appears again. It looks the same way, as if you press the F11-Key.
I installed Fastdial 2.14 in 2 ways
- over 2.11
- without any fastdial pre-install
all installations cause the same effect.
Greetz.

Thanks for your post
Autohide is in fact one of the new features seen in Fast Dial 2.14
For those that do not want this function there is a temporary fix here.
If you wish to undo this fix please reload Fast Dial 2.14
It is hoped in the next version that there will be the possiblity to disable Autohide in Fast Dial Preferences for the users that do not want to use it.

A, that's great. Thanks for the hint. Now it's turned off.

Submitted by DHowett (not verified) on Wed, 11/05/2008 - 07:32When the option for AutoHide is made can it please default to off? It's a rather visually jarring affect and very confusing to people who may have just upgraded on a whim (the changelog only went up to 2.9, so I wasn't aware of this.) I tried restarting firefox because I thought it misread my chrome data the first time.

Point taken
2.14 one could say is in beta stage at the moment as people are still reacting to it and dreaming up modifications.
By the sound of it you have resolved the Autohide question now
Yes I agree the changelog probably is out of date.
Needs to be changed.
Thanks for the feedack
