2.9 gone completely crazy on my Mac - help?

Love Fast Dial - I have used it for a long time and cannot live without it - but suddenly after upgrading to 2,9 things are going seriously wrong.
1. I run a big fast dial (14 x 7 = 98 tiles) which means that everything I need is there. In order. I have had it at that size for a very long time. I know exactly where my electronic life is at. However, now whenever I open up FastDial the order is changing; especially it seems the first two rows.
2. I have tried fixing this with dragging them back into order, no joy, I have also tired through "Manage Bookmarks" but they won't stay in order. If I open a new tab I get a new order, and I can see no logic to how that new order has been decided it just seems to jumble up the tiles. Though NOT after row three, just the top two rows. It may have something to do with the blanks as it seems to be trying to eliminate any blanks? This was never a problem before in 2.7. The previous upgrade 2.8 also seemed to cause problems.
3. I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice, same result.
4. I run a MacBook Pro Dual Core 17", with very few other add-ons and extensions: these are QuickDrag 1.0.5, Stumbleupon 3.26, Gmail Manager 0.5.5, Firefox Showcase 0.9.4.9 and that's it.
5. In addition, the hotkeys went wonky too, even though they were set up as CTRL 1, CTRL 2 etc; they started working with OPT 1, OPT 2 only. Now they have stopped working.
It's going to take a LOT of work if I need to uninstall preferences etc; and make a clean install;
Any ideas anyone, could it be something in FastDial Preferences (I've tried, but nothing seems to make any difference) or????
Going a bit crazy, as you can imagine, when you've used something for this long it really slows down my research and work.
All ideas or suggestions welcomed. Thanks!!

I have FD2.11 and still have this problem. It occurs both on windows and on linux. I don't have a mac.
Would you be so kind as to backup your current bookmarks and send a copy of the file to telega, so that he can see what is causing your problem
Please could you make the bookmarks backup before trying out the below.

Is it possible to re-install FD without losing all my current bookmarks?
Yes it is.
Try Mafi0z fix
Try uninstalling Fast Dial
Restarting Firefox
Re-installing Fast Dial (Version 2.11)
Restarting Firefox
See if that changes anything
Thanks

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Thu, 09/25/2008 - 08:23I'm getting the same problem on Windows even after uninstalling and reinstalling 2.11 twice. Ever since FD went past 2.0, it's been completely scrambled. Every time I hit Page Refresh, the order changes. Every one of my 3 computers has the problem, even though they all have different Bookmark lists. I don't want to have to switch to another plugin, but this is ridiculous.

Thanks for your post
Have you posted previously ?
I'm getting the same problem on Windows even after uninstalling and reinstalling 2.11 twice.
I presume then that you have followed
Drag and Drop problem in Firefox 2.x- Bug Fixed
Is that correct ?

Would you be so kind as to backup your Bookmarks in each machine and send copies of the saved files to telega
Maybe you should rename the backup files after saving so that there is no confusion.
Thank you

even though they all have different Bookmark lists
This sounds as if you are not using Foxmarks or any other synchronisation software to synchronise your bookmarks in your three computers.
Is that correct ?
uninstall
