The F5 Shuffle
pocketchalker Sun, 09/21/2008 - 04:44
Ok...Love the extension...although....As of this morning(no changes from last night and before the update to 2.11 so I don't know why it started today)
Uninstalled and went back to .2.8. Worked ok..
Reinstalled 2.11 and when I fired it up it ff and had 4 blank windows. Hit refresh and 1 comes back. Hit refresh again and another, f5 and another...Although, they are all in the wrong locations.
Move them back to where they are supposed to go with drag n drop and then hit refresh...they shuffle on the page.
F5, shuffle
F5, shuffle.
Let's all do the F5 Shuffle.
PLEASE come BACK to ME FD. Please?
Regards,
Pocket
PS. Never did have the bookmark problem everyone is talking about.

Thank you for reporting your problem.
I am sorry to hear of your difficulties.
-------------------------------------------------------
Please explain what has happened as clearly as possible and we will try to see what has happened.
So far I understand you were using Fast Dial Version 2.8 and everything was working fine.
You upgraded to Version 2.11, and you encountered immediately a number of problems of cells not remaining where you put them in Fast Dial.
You returned to Version 2.8 and everything works fine.
You return to Version 2.11 and the problem returns.
Is that correct ?
---------------------------------------------------------
Have you tried simply un-installing version 2.11, restarting Firefox.
Installing Version 2.11. Restarting Firefox
---------------------------------------------------------
Have you downloaded any new extensions recently ?
-------------------
Please could you check and see if your Fast Dial Version 2.11 works in a New Firefox Profile ?
-------------------
May I ask you also to please make a backup of your pesent non-working bookmarks folder now, thank you
This file places.sqlite could be essential to understand why you are having these problems
Thanks for your help
Re: The F5 Shuffle
Submitted by pocketchalker on Mon, 09/22/2008 - 03:11I actually had version 2.9 in the middle..
I'm not sure in the middle of what, because there were 9 version updates between Sept 8th and Sept 12th.(according to the add-ons sight)
Sometimes I can leave ff open for days and sometimes I'll shut it down...just depends on whats going on so I don't know exactly.
Also, I have to say....I'm not exactly sure what fixed what....but it seems to be working at the moment. (2.11)
Basically I uninstalled it all together and went back to 2.8. Then I did the upgrade to 2.11. Skipping 2.9.
I did actually save a backup of bookmarks before It was corrected, if you're interested in the file.
The file places.sqlite that you mention I can not find it. Embarrassing as this sounds...I can't locate anything with .sqlite.. I do however have a bookmark backup from before it was fixed....a .JSON file.
Sorry if I haven't been much help...If the problem returns I'll let you know.
Another thing with the f5 shuffle deal....It appeared that if you continued to refresh..it would eventually refill all the panels with the bookmarks but they wouldn't always be in the correct order. Now they seem to be working just fine.
Thanks.

One more thing, I do not know if AIOS has any incompatibility issues, but at the same time I started getting this error, I also started getting a pop up error with AIOS. It's a random error also I have to figure out. It doesn't appear to actually do anything, just a pop-up saying I've got an error and once again, it's intermittent so I haven't grabbed it yet to work out this problem.

That will be fine
Could you send it as a file attachment to telega with details of who you are and a link to this post.
Thanks

Interesting
Please could you check in the error console to see if any errors are appearing when you use these two extensions together.
see
Using the error console
Thank you
Please keep us posted if you have further problems
Re: The F5 Shuffle
Submitted by dijitali on Thu, 12/18/2008 - 06:08I am currently having the same problem. Everytime I access Fast Dial, my icons have moved. Sometimes a few disappear and then reappear the next time I access.
I am currently using version 2.11 of Fast Dial on Firefox 3.0.5.
I have not installed any new extensions since this has started occurring. The most recent is URL Suffix - Continued https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/9094

Submitted by dijitali on Thu, 12/18/2008 - 06:13Have just tried your suggestion regarding the error console, each time I refresh Fast Dial the error reads:
Error: userAgentButton is null
Source File: chrome://useragentswitcher/content/useragentswitcher.js
Line: 481

Your error is caused by
User Agent Switcher
Please diable that extension and try again.
Thanks
