Plz help me with importing thunderbird to Simple Mail

Hello guys!
I'm in a transitioning phase from Opera to Firefox+Simple Mail. Now, I've successfully transferred everything to thunderbird and, as I had read that simple mail can import accounts and emails from thunderbird, I fired up ff and installed simple mail. For the life of me I can't understand how to get the emails from thunderbird. i.e. I right click on inbox, select Import, I go where my thunderbird mails are and try to import the inbox, but nothing happens. What am I missing here? Thanks in advance! :)

you should import file without extension : Inbox and NOT inbox.msf

Submitted by vulture_g7 on Wed, 07/10/2013 - 10:52I tried that as well, but still nothing is imported. It acts as if I did nothing. Is there a debug tool I could use to check what simple mail does and what fails and send it back to you?

Submitted by vulture_g7 on Wed, 07/10/2013 - 16:28I've tried the inbox which is pretty big, about 2.8gb , but I also tried the Sent folder which is about 500mb and that didn't work either. The trash folder though which is about 12mb and just tried it today, was imported fine. So, is size a problem here?

Submitted by TechnalXS on Thu, 07/11/2013 - 05:02I do not think size is an issue, but import 2.8 GB takes time .... I think you should wait at least 30 minutes (at least ...probably more)

Submitted by vulture_g7 on Thu, 07/11/2013 - 06:32I've no trouble waiting at all. But here's why I concluded that nothing's happening. In the case of the small mailbox (Trash) which was imported successfully, it took about 5 seconds and during that time Firefox was unresponsive, indicating something was happening. In the case of "Inbox" and "Sent" it acts as if it ignored my action completely as firefox is instantly as fast as before and fully responsive and meanwhile Simple Mail's inbox list doesn't seem to be getting populated. I don't know if my description is good enough. Now, I'll just go ahead and try to import "Sent" once more and wait for about an hour and see what happens to report back. Thx for your help so far, much appreciated! :)
