Need more flexibility with contacts

Hi. Love Simple Mail -- could be just the thing I've been looking for.
Is there a way to sync my contacts with my google address books? Or, lacking that, a way to import my google contacts into Simple Mail? Without this, it's almost impossible to use the extension easily.
Thanks.

Re: Need more flexibility with contacts
Submitted by AyeJay on Sat, 03/09/2013 - 13:19The only way I know, at the time being, is to import all the contacts of SimpleMail via a VCF-data file, which can be imported then by a right-click pop-up menue facility with entry "Import...". Right click somewhere in the address list of SimpleMail!
Such a file can easily be generated with SimpleMail by chosing "Export..." from the right-click pop-up menu, which shows up when you are right-clicking on any entry in the address list, including the header bars... :-)
This VCF-file allows to have included ALL ADDRESSES in ONE file.
I don't know however, what other mail programs are offering instead!
M/B you will need to use additionally some third-party address conversion software for this.
Whereby some BUGS were disclosing for me here:
- NO SORTING OF the listing ENTRIES when activating the corresponding header bars...
- NO SINGLE ADDRESS EXPORT when chosing a DISCTINCT SINGLE ADDRESS entry (by marking),
or when chosing a group of marked addresses...

you're right, i'll fix it
- NO SINGLE ADDRESS EXPORT when chosing a DISCTINCT SINGLE ADDRESS entry (by marking),
or when chosing a group of marked addresses...
is it really useful?

I think so, I am using some addresses from some accounts on my Smartphone, and therefore it would be really useful to have a method to choose only certain addresses (a single address is only a subset), in order to transfer only those selected addresses - the selection could even be more comfortable if we also could have folders in the address listings of SimpleMail!
