2.80 sucks!

Answering to Your post commenting my review of Simple Mail 2.80 at addons.mozilla.org
After update from 2.79 to 2.80 many things of Simple Mail went to shit! The most obvious:
1. Missing of the icon in addons bar. Now there is only counter (I want the icon back!): http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/826/scr1kf.jpg/
2. Error when trying to access editing accounts data (there is no possibility to change anything now!): http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/713/scr2xd.jpg/
3. The transparent look (wtf?! the normal and classic don't look any much better also!): http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/585/scr3mv.jpg/
4. The GUI looks also changed to worse (yes! it really changed) but it isn't a really big deal so I leave it without a screenshot.
I am using Firefox 6.0.2 (on my notebook and my work PC) and Firefox 4.0.1 (yeah, still) and the Simple Mail 2.80 looks and acts the same on all computers. All browsers has been skinned to MX3 (two of them) and to another skin (don't remember right now; it's on my work PC; I'm home now). All computers run on Windows 7 x64. Polish language.
By now You know it's not me but the update to 2.80 version by judging of other reviews by different people who were updated.
As I wrote before I'm going back (and blocking auto update of Simple Mail!) to 2.79 hoping there will be 2.81 version any time soon.

Rolling the cursor over the number shows the word null and time since last update attempt. When trying to sync, one email downloads and then a red message saying connection failed appears but no message that an email has been downloaded appears.. At each try to sync one more email is downloaded and the red connection failed notification then appears. This has been a problem from the start of 2.8 betas. Others have described the lack of envelope icon with email number present.
Although version 2.79 previously worked with FF 6.02, it will not reinstall now. It will not install on FF 7.o beta 5 either although it is listed as being compatible up to FF 7.
Hopefully this can be corrected. Thanks for reviving this extension.

Hi,
1. So this is a problem for most of the users of addon exept You. But there is still a problem, so we all are waiting for a solution.
2. Thanks for correcting localization file but I will wait with updating to 2.80 when all bugs are eliminated.
3. I don't have any other themes of Windows 7 but its native Aero look and never have. My desktop: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/52/scrmr.jpg/
Looking for futher bugs eliminating and free of them version 2.81 ;)

I have the same problem with installing version 2.79 in Firefox 6.0.2 (compatibility error) after uninstalling 2.80. But there is a simple way. Just disable compatibility check for addons in Firefox :) The example is right here: http://www.nirmaltv.com/2011/03/19/disable-add-on-compatibility-check-in... - just make sure to use extensions.checkCompatibility.6.0 if You have Firefox 6.0.2.

Looking better and better... if fact very good! :)
Icon in addon bar restored and You did great job to transparent look of popup (even if by chance) ;) And there is access to accounts details, so I guess I have to correct my review on addons.mozilla.com. Look: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/706/scrpf.jpg/

I'm glad that Simple Mail is finally useable again (i use it constantly).
As you were talking about bugs,
there occured a new one in 2.80.1 -
you can't clear the bin of emails.
Deleting Mails from the entry is working fine,
but when i want to remove them from the bin,
nothing gets deleted after the dialogue.
Blah, just registered to tell you that,
you should make an image with your email adress,
so people don't need to take this much time for reporting bugs.
P.S.: And the Captcha is useless here,
every stupid bot can solve it.
