Rounder cells on hover question

For LAMj who wrote this theme and style here
and for anyone else who is interested.

Please look at these styles and let me know what you think:

(a)
Rounded cells with glow and without, for dark background

(b)
Rounded cells with drop shadow for use with white background

Well basically I have no skills in CSS.
Just keep trying things till they work.

I am quite pleased with the white glow version and now use it as a permanent fixture.

I thought you may have suggestions for possible improvement in code.
