I upgraded to firefox 3.5 and all links in fast dial disappeared AND folder is empty

FYI - I used the above listed instructions to restore my bookmarks and...no more blank boxes! Fast Dial is back to normal! THANK YOU- I love this product and have come to rely on it!!!

Submitted by Rafael (not verified) on Thu, 07/09/2009 - 10:19I only solved this problem after removing all the bookmarks from FastDial folder and then I picked up my itens and dragged and dropped to that folder(Fast dial). So my bookmarks were unsorted and I have to sort on my own.
Sometimes there are incompatibilities between new versions and old versions of fast dial. I had this issue before and I solved doing the same procedure above.

Please could I ask you to first make a full Profile Backup of Firefox with FEBE.
This is as a precaution
So you have a safety copy of your present Profile.
Now there are two options after you have done that.
Which ever you prefer.
As long as you have a backup we can try things out.
1.
One user found that there was no Fast Dial Folder please see here.
Fast Dial Folder should be put in Bookmarks Menu
2.
There is another method around (from AMO) which you may prefer see here
But please make a backup before you start so that if there is a problem you can start again.

These option doesn´t work. I deinstalled and installed FastDial-add-on but it still doesn´t work.
I´m now going to try your option nr. 1, but I´m not sure that it will work. I´m not sure where to create the FastDial-folder
