Simple Mail- doesn't work with gmx-account

Anonymous (not verified) —Fri, 05/08/2009 - 05:24

Hi all,
i was so happy to find this little quite nice add-on witch works great with web.de (imap) but not with my several gmx.de an gmx.net accounts...
Maybe, because they have changed since 30.may09 something with there "login-procedure"? - or do i something wrong? anybody here, h´who can confirm (or deny) this gmx problem with this add-on?
Please keep up this good work - i will def. use it, if it works with gmx.de

Mine works fine - try POP3 instead - make sure you have the following settings in Preferences > Accounts > Edit:

Hello,

i have also a problem with gmx. I use Simple Mail daily and last week Simple Mail stopped to work.
I can't check up my emails or write them.

I use a german gmx account and in the image below you can see my settings.

Please help.

If you have installed Java recently, then check your addons list: Java Quick Starter addon is known to conflict with Simple Mail, you should disable it.
If you have recently specified proxy server in Firefox connection settings, then you should make sure "Use this proxy for all protocols" checkbox should be unchecked.
Otherwise try to remember what has changed what might have caused this error.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

The problem was the Java Quick Starter addon.
After I have disabled it, Simple Mail started to work :)
