Is there some sort of problem with present spam module ?

I noticed in the logs of one user that he had tried to make a post, but he had been rejected by the spam module.
This was not an admin or a moderator, but a very experienced user.
I found this somewhat curious that he should have such difficulty, so I investigated with a test profile as a user to see if I could make a post.
I was asked two mathematical questions in captcha but for some reason failed them both and was then rejected by the spam module

what is 13+1=
so not really very difficult...
do we really need a captcha on all posting ?
do we need a captcha whose maths is so difficult to fathom ? :-)
Is anyone else experiencing any problems ?

do we need a captcha at all as all users are members.
have you tried yourself with a test profile ?
something is wrong somewhere I think....

not listed in blocked ips in adminster
not very friendly..

So although in the test profile it said not blocked, as there were these blocked comments in the module, it would not allow me to post..
that would seem to suggest that one cannot simply click on the profile to free an account...

I have now released from quarantine from within the spam module
