Custom "Back" Image Displays Incorrectly

dougtheneard —Fri, 02/27/2009 - 03:33

Whenever I set my the "Back" button image to the "Return" userlogo from euphonicnight's Folders set, it displays much larger than it should. I've attached an image below to show:

back-button-messup.png - Picamatic - upload your images

The top-left one that's way too huge is the back button, of course; the one right below it shows how it should be, with a margin of 4, which is how it should be right then. Of course, even with a margin of 0 it wouldn't be coming out of the box.
I'm using the "Metallic, Telega" theme that comes built-in; it also does the same thing on the "Default" theme. I haven't tried it with other images, but I don't use other ones, so it's hard to have a good frame of reference.

It also doesn't work right with the "margins" option on thumbnails; instead of shrinking down like the other thumbnails, it simply crops down; the image stays the same, but the edges get cut off. Again, this is with the standard margin of 4 with the Metallic theme, but it's the same no matter what you set the margins to; the regular thumbnails shrink to fit in it, and the one set to the "back" simply crops down. It does this on the default theme as well, with the default back button; however, in that case you have to set the margin to around 75 for it to show.

Unfortunately, these issues mean I cannot use that custom back image; it simply looks too distorted.

Oh, and I am using the latest Fast Dial, 2.22b.

"Back" image isn't automatically resized, the image you're assigning is too large, you have to resize it using any image editor before assigning.

@dougtheneard

Should you wish to experiment, please try loading this back arrow if you want, just while you are troubleshooting this question.

Many thanks

"Back" image isn't automatically resized

Is this something that's permanent, or will there be an option to do it different? It seems backwards from how the normal thumbnails work. My thought would be to have it the same as the rest, but that's just me. I guess I could see where people would want it to act differently, to stand out or some such.

Just wondering, is this something that will be changed or an option in a future version?

One great thing about FD is that it resizes everything dynamically. Shouldn't this carry over to the back button?
