Ubiquity and Fast Dial Version 1.90

There was recently a very helpful post by eliljo on the question of Fast Dial Version 1.90 and Ubiquity
This appeared here
It would seem that Ubiquity causes Fast Dial Version 1.x not to function
But works fine in Fast Dial Version 2.x
