From your description, I am not quite clear what is happening.
Please explain in more detail
Am I to understand that Fast Dial is not installing correctly

Submitted by dinosculptor on Wed, 03/17/2010 - 13:41Hi, I am using version 2.23b1.
if I shut down firefox and re-start it...fast dial is still there,
but if I shut down my computer as I do each night, when I re-start firefox I have to re-instal fast dial,
this has only happened since upgrading to the latest firefox version 3.6 .... Thanks

Thanks.
How strange...
when you look in addons is fast dial not there at all, or is it disabled ?
is there any message on fast dial in addons ?
is there any chance you could try to reproduce this problem in a new Firefox profile with only Fast Dial loaded ?
If that works then this suggests that this is not a fast dial problem.
I have not encountered this before, so we need to try and examine what is happening.
I am using fd 2.23b1 in 3.6 with no problems...
This suggests there may be another element involved...

I will try it in a new profile as you say, but that wont be until tomorrow,
I will let you know what happens ... thanks for your help

Let us just see what happens...
Did you do anything different/change anything, I wonder.. ?
Maybe back up your good working profile now with FEBE... ?

Thanks for the feedback.
This is most strange....
I am still under the impression that this is not a Fast Dial problem, as it is not generally experienced.
But one cannot be sure...
What Virus software are you using ?
Have you tried temporarily disabling ?
Can you confirm that this does not happen with Firefox 3.5 ??
we need to narrow this down as much as we can...
The most strange is that the xpi saves to Firefox, but that it goes missing when you close the computer down.
There just has to be a reason for this...
