Connection Failed - sporadic behaviour
imroue —Thu, 08/21/2008 - 12:03
Sometimes I get this message "Connection Failed". I looked up the error console and this is what I get:
Error: [Exception... "String contains an invalid character" code: "5" nsresult: "0x80530005 (NS_ERROR_DOM_INVALID_CHARACTER_ERR)" location: "chrome://simplemail/content/encoder.js Line: 193"]
Source File: chrome://simplemail/content/encoder.js
Line: 193
The thing is, I can connect to my mail using the regular website, but perfer to use simple mail.
please let me know.
Thanks,
Imad

Re: Connection Failed - sporadic behaviour
Submitted by telega on Thu, 08/21/2008 - 16:53This error means Simple Mail fails to parse some mail message. If your mail website allows could you send me source of this message? (You can compare list of messages in Simple Mail with a list of messages on server to identify the message.)

Submitted by telega on Wed, 08/27/2008 - 09:21I've updated Simple Mail package on this site, please try to reinstall.
This version should work fine, except that some messages may contain strings like "Simple Mail Error: ...". Right-click such message in messages list, choose "View Source" and send the source to me.

No, I mean you to try updated version of Simple Mail, it should work fine.
While using this new version if you see a text like "Simple Mail: ...error..." in some message, then please send me source of such message.
