Drag and drop - 2.23b1 and FF 3.5.3

How do I look up my old problems, in here?
I'm re-experiencing some FD issues that were solved a month ago, and I need to look at the old solution.
I don't want to re-post the problem and go through ALL the iterative steps to resolution, again!
never mind... found it

Submitted by chiaroscuro on Sun, 10/04/2009 - 20:30I just saw that. For me it is the opposite. I already had "fixed" deselected and selecting it seems to have, at least temporarily solved the problem
OK
That is interesting.
So in both cases linked to the Fixed setting
I will make some further enquiries.
Let me know if you find anything else :-)
Thanks for your interest !
Re: How to find my old posts?
Submitted by chiaroscuro on Sun, 10/04/2009 - 20:43Out of curiosity I went to about:config
went to setting
extensions.fastdial.options and reset.
I will see if this has any effect on the problem....
Re: How to find my old posts?
Submitted by at_jazz on Sun, 10/04/2009 - 20:52Well, with a grain of salt... Every solution I stumble across only lasts for a short period of time, then it goes right back to the pre-existing problem!
Re: How to find my old posts?
Submitted by chiaroscuro on Sun, 10/04/2009 - 20:55Yes I find the same.
I can however move cells with fixed disabled.
It would seem that in some way Fast Dial is possibly scrambling the information stored in about:config in some way.
At least we have narrowed things down a bit
Many thanks for your interest !

Buggy code, then... I wonder what made it suddenly start doing this? I've moved a tile, or two, many time, on separate occasions. This time, I enlarged my grid before making changes. But, I believe you said your grid has pretty much remained static.
Maybe some malcontent has found a vulnerability and released it into the wild and we are the first to experience it? Or, just a coincidence. Time will tell. Hopefully the next update fixes the problem.
For me, anyway, it is an annoyance, at worst. Ignorable, at best, once I get my bookmarks in the tiles I want them in.
Re: How to find my old posts?
Submitted by chiaroscuro on Sun, 10/04/2009 - 21:13Which Firefox Version are you using.
Could be related to a change in Firefox...
Please let me know....
I have found the settings file in Fast Dial.
At least now thanks to our conversation I have found a "fix" to drag and drop my cells temporarily
I might try running an earlier Version of Firefox, it may well work...
Many thanks
Re: How to find my old posts?
Submitted by at_jazz on Sun, 10/04/2009 - 22:45I'm using FF3.5.3
I don't recall my FF updating recently, but, to be truthful, I prolly haven't moved any stuff around in FD since the last upgrade of FF.

Same as me then....
I don't move stuff often either.
Re: How to find my old posts?
Submitted by chiaroscuro on Mon, 10/05/2009 - 22:52I have tried to reproduce this Fast Dial problem in a New Firefox Profile.
So far without success....
