I need help !

I've had Fast Dial for a while, and about 3 days ago, it stopped working.
When I open a new page, or click to open FD, a blank page with a bunch of weird symbols showed up.
I don't know what they are, but I can't figure out a way to get it back to normal.
I tried restoring FD, uninstalling then reinstalling, but still ends up with the same thing;;
someone help?

1. Backup present FF profile with FEBE for safety.
2. Try as per instructions in long thread, loading an older version of bookmarks backup into firefox.
In your case 4 days ago at least...
do not use the delete places.sqlite method as that will load the last backup, which in your case may also be corrupt.
3. after doing that, restart firefox and do a firefox refresh

which means you are in the root, which should be the fast dial folder.
