oneillkid —Sat, 01/24/2009 - 14:29
Hi I would like to say that I am loving the application but I have one problem I have it set up so it sorts my fastdial bookmarks by visits, but it doesn't work they just all stay in the same area and don't move, even if I keep clicking on say facebook it will not move to the first position. Any help would be great appreciated thanks so much.

Submitted by oneillkid on Sun, 01/25/2009 - 02:39Yes that would work but:
1. No extension would do that
2. Yes, but you always have hot keys.
3. Yes but probably there is no script that would do that, and even if there was one, all it would be doing would be another example of 2.

Change the keys for History, and remove the History menu, I guess.
I don't use the most visited/sortbyvisits function, so I can't be 100% certain.

Hidebad is one.
Hit a button and all your History is erased.

@chiaroscuro - same thing as Mafia_Penguin, also that sort of defeats the purpose because once my history is cleared. then all of my visit counts are cleared to.
Guess I will try to make some sort of encrypted file that only saves page visit count.

Submitted by Mafia_Penguin on Sun, 01/25/2009 - 02:57The only sure way would be to convince Telega to add an option to use Fast Dial's History saver, or to change the code yourself if you can.

Submitted by chiaroscuro on Sun, 01/25/2009 - 03:08Having Googled this whole question a little it would seem the visit count is intimately linked with History.
I found no reference to the possibility of retaining the visit count in Histories absence.
Maybe you may find something.

The important thing I find was that we managed together to clarify that this was not a Fast Dial bug. :-)
Thanks for all your input

I have seen "Safe browsing mode" possibility in new Firefox versions, which can be activated by a hotkey and temporarily turns off saving of history, etc.

I am not at all clear if safebrowsing will solve all your ills
However I came across
One link here on the subject
As well as two Extensions
Private Browsing
Toggle Private Browsing

Oh and I came across your interesting Mozilla post on the subject we have been discussing here
Many thanks
