Keyboard shortcuts in FD

Fast dial was such a nice extension to FF. The key feature for me was the convenient way to quickly access my most visited webpages with ctrl+number. It was pretty much the only thing in FD that I used.
Why oh why did you remove this great feature? having to first create a new tab (even with a shortcut key for that) and then click the right screenshot is really annoying when you have gotten used to a really quick and easy wat of navigating to your favorite pages.

I tried to add a page in the group directly - before it could do so. If you were already in a group, he added a page in the opened group, but now it only adds to the root! This is very inconvenient.
