Launchy Stuff

Cant find where to put copy and pasted text.
You need first to paste that text you got from the xml generator into a Text editor (Notepad for example) and then "save as" the file into the Chrome Folder.
Be careful not to "save as" launchy.xml.txt
So have file types selected as "All" rather than as "Text" when you "save as" the file.
---
To know where to save the text file launchy.xml:
Click on Launchy Icon/Options and then Launchy.xml.
That gives you the exact location of the Chrome Folder.
---
Once you have saved the file, it is much easier to make further edits to the file in situ using Notepad in Launchy.
Good luck

Submitted by chiaroscuro on Mon, 11/17/2008 - 16:56Mmm Rocketdock may be difficult
Try 1.
But it may not like it.
You could maybe try 6
I have never used six
So it could be real bad.
Maybe avoid.
Try 1 first
Have a play :-)
1. Browsers (e.g. Mozilla Firefox)
2. Mail clients (e.g. Mozilla Thunderbird)
3. Media clients (e.g. Windows Media Player)
4. FTP clients (e.g. WS_FTP)
5. Download Managers (e.g. FlashGet)
6. File Explorers (e.g. Windows Explorer)
7. Editors (e.g. UltraEdit)
8. View Viewers (e.g. XnView)

Yes maybe try something easier.
When you have got five or six applications running you won't miss rocketdock so bad.
I meant type six not seven in previous post.
have changed.

Submitted by chiaroscuro on Mon, 11/17/2008 - 17:54I forgot to say that the easiest way to edit Launchy.xml, now it is in place is simply to go to Launchy/Notepad
File/Open and then browse to the Launchy.xml file in Chrome
To see the file need to select All Files.
It is a very quick and easy way to access the file.

http://rocketdock.com/
Because I can get Rocketdock to work with:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
RocketDock
1
C:\Program Files\RocketDock\Rocketdock.exe
Or, the RocketDock specific part:
RocketDock
1
C:\Program Files\RocketDock\Rocketdock.exe

Great
This is good news
I do not have Rocketdock to test
Thanks a lot for trying that out.
So it does work with "1" after all.
Have created a new Folder with lists of Launchy application modules here

You can get it for free at RocketDock's website.
Thanks for the link.
I had sort of presumed that RD was Vista territory only.
---
As you say Launchy weems to load Rocketdock just fine, which is very handy.
This is excellent news
Thanks

@jmarkybb
You seem to know Rocketdock well.
It would seem that Mafia_Penguins code runs Rocketdock just fine.
Please let me know how you get on.

You seem to know Rocketdock well.
Like I said, I am not that computer literate, Mafia_Penguin has edited that code as well.
I would not know were to start with something like that.
Tried putting that code in, not working for me as easy as WMP did.

Try putting this in your Launchy.xml file and nothing else
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
RocketDock
1
C:\Program Files\RocketDock\Rocketdock.exe
Windows Media Player
1
C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe
This should work then for WMP and Rocketdock
Let me know how you get on.
Should work OK for both.
If I quit Rocketdock
Launchy will launch RD in Autohide mode just fine.
No errors
